Conversion (bekerings-) history (geschiedenis) of Christ Nijp.

This is the conversion history of Christ Nijp (born: 28-nov-1881), the father of my grandfather (opa) Tijmen Marten Nijp, who married Wim Mulder (born:17 dec 1920). It is a translation of a series on a block calender of which one could tear off a small page for reading that day. The front side was meant to read a bible part with a short meditation/explanation. The backside was usually a little story, most often a continuing serie, usually a couple of pages long. The intention was to read one each day after dinner and, with a lot of Christian families, this became a normal daily routine.

The names in the historical story were made up, but because it is such a long time ago and because this is in English, the real names are used in this translated version:

These are the names:
- Mrs/mother Nijp - her real name: Sijke Nijp-de Vries (born: 20-june-1852), the wife of Yde Nijp (born: 12-dec-1847).
- Willempke Nijp (born: 15-okt-1875), who married Jan Roest from Echtenerbrug (born: 14 sep 1867).
- Christ Nijp, who this historical story is about (born: 28 nov 1881). He married Trijntje Bakker, born: 30 okt 1881). Their children:
- Yde Nijp (born: 17-okt-1908), who later (after WWII, in the 50's) emigrated to Australiƫ.
- Trijntje (Tine) Nijp (born. 4-jan-1907)
- evangelist Ruitinga - real name: Anton de Jager from Dinxperlo.
