We bid a loving farewell to Susan (Sjoukje) Radsma (nee Alberda), on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Mount Royal Care Center.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Ted (Tjeerd), and leaves to mourn her cherished daughters: Harmena, Joanne (Bernard) VanWieren, Helen (John) Koning, Jenny, and Frances, and her adopted daughter, Pauline Borkowsky, all of whom she enfolded in her never-ending love and prayers. Additionally, she will be missed by her six grand-children and twelve great-grandchildren. She is survived by her brother Albert Alberda in The Netherlands, and numerous nieces and nephews, including her Alberda kin in Calgary who were dear to her.

Born in Lemmer, The Netherlands, she immigrated to Canada in 1953 and became a proud Canadian and Albertan. Over the years, she took pleasure in various volunteer activities, including the MS Society and Bibles for Missions. However, she counted her role as wife and mother as her greatest joy. Unassuming and tender hearted, she was loved by and loyal to her family and friends. She delighted in the many small things that lent sparkle to her life—a phone call, a cup of tea, a child’s glee, or the promise of spring. Sustained by a strong faith in God throughout her life, she was also uplifted by wholehearted laughter with family and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W. Calgary, AB) on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. A heartfelt thank you is extended to the staff at Mount Royal Care Centre, Southwood Hospice, Wentworth Manor, and Home Instead. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimers Society (Alberta and Northwest Territories).

In living memory of Sjoukje Radsma, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES Park Memorial Chapel, 5008 ELBOW DRIVE S.W. Calgary, AB, T2S 2L5, Telephone: 403-243-8200.
