  • Aantekeningen
    • STADSKANAAL NETHERLANDS -- Bart Elling, 85, went to be with his Lord
and Savior on March 29, 1999, in Stadskanaal, Holland.

He was born Barteld Elling on May 17, 1913, in Scheemda, Holland. He
married Jantina (Tiny) Mulder on May 11, 1943.

Bart and Tiny immediately began a ministry of bringing the Gospel to
shattered lives in Holland and Germany. During WWII, the Ellings
suffered many hardships and privations, along with their fellow
countrymen, but also saw God work many miracles. Their ministry
eventually took them around the world, establishing Bible Schools in
the Carribbean and ministering in Dutch orphanages in Surinam. Bart
Elling became a well known and respected Bible teacher and pastor in
the various places he and Tiny served. When they came to the U.S. in
the mid-70s, before arriving in Odessa to pastor at Morning Star
Fellowship church, he had established small Bible schools in several
places and faithfully taught Gods Word at every opportunity.

Ellings made many friends in Odessa area during their residence here
and subsequent visits. He served as interim pastor at Morning Star
Fellowship about three years and then returned to Holland. He pastored
a church in Emmen until failing health required their move into a
      nursing center in Stadskanaal.

Bart and Tiny were loved by all who knew them. Wherever they were,
they served the Lord in humble ministry to people of every walk of
life. Bart had a great desire to depart and be with Christ, which is
far better, and has now joyfully graduated from this life to live
eternally with the Lord Jesus and his dear Tiny who went before him on
May 8, 1998. He is survived by one brother-in-law, Derek Mulder, and
wife, Triny of Holland, and a multitude of friends in the U.S. and
around the world who will treasure the times shared with Bart and Tiny
in fellowship with the Lord Jesus Christ.
